Released in 2025, The Monkey is Osgood Perkins second feature film. Based on a short story by Stephen King, featuring Theo James as two identical twins plagued by a family curse brought on by their father. The Monkey is presented in an aspect ratio of 4:3 and features a ‘pseudo’ Stereo Mix. The original 5.1 mix has a greater dynamic range, and doesn’t translate well on old CRT & VCR Setups. The 5.1 mix has been downmixed to Stereo, and compressed by 6/7 dB to mimic the dynamic range of a true stereo mix. Loud peaks are attenuated, with the overall signal being raised by 6dB.
